Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Request or schedule a free 15-minute consultation. I will speak to you by phone to answer your questions, and together we will determine whether my services would be appropriate for you. If my services are not a good fit, I can send referrals.

    2. If appropriate, we will schedule an initial assessment. You will be sent policies and forms to read, fill out, and sign before meeting, which I will review once returned to me.

    3. We will meet virtually (yay!) for the assessment, on a secure platform. During initial assessments, I take detailed information of your concerns, history, and background. I will also ask for your goals to establish a plan for treatment.

    4. You are now officially a client of Dr. Allison. We will determine a schedule and begin our journey together!

  • All information shared between the client and provider are confidential, with a few exceptions:

    Child abuse and neglect

    Elder abuse and neglect

    Dependent (adult) abuse and neglect

Danger to self or others (suicide/homicide)

As applicable, complying with a court subpoena

Please keep in mind that information shared through email is not confidential. I recommend that email be used only for general questions about services, with all other information communicated through the secure client portal or directly over the phone.

  • My practice is OON and cash-pay only. Meaning I do not accept insurance and would be considered an “out of network provider.” If you have out of network benefits through your insurer that you would like to use, a superbill may be provided upon request. All major credit and debit cards, FSA, and HSA, are accepted.

My rates are $220 for a standard 50-minute individual therapy session, and $250 for the first session, an initial assessment called an “intake.” The 15-minute phone consultation is free.

    1. Seek potential partial reimbursement: Contact your insurance provider to check if you have out-of-network benefits. You can also use Reimbursify to check benefits and file claims. If you plan to pursue this please notify me.

If you think you may have insurance that includes out of network benefits but are unsure of where to start, you may find this article helpful.

    2. Sliding scale: I provide services at a reduced cost to those in financial need through Open Path. Limited spots are available through this service.

    3. Therapy Scholarships: I accept vouchers from The Loveland Foundation. BIPOC individuals may qualify for free therapy sessions through the BIPOC Therapy Fund.

Inquire for more information on these options.
